We got a start on this one about a month ago, its finally starting to take shape. It's not a exact copy, maybe a touch larger and a little more refined, you can notice that we have taken design elements from all of our previous projects. Almost everything on this one has been salvaged materials witch definitely complicates things, but we take pride in the fact that this basically started as a pile of scrap.
We had a blast and met a lot of great people last weekend, here are some memories we wanted to share. Below you can see Billy Strings, some of the members of Greensky Bluegrass and the Deep Fried Pickle Project jug band all checking out our instruments.
Last weekend we were able to get all the instruments up to Feral Fest 2016 and on top of that we won the sculpture contest! This is an amazing festival with a great atmosphere and even better people. We finally were able to get the pickups hooked up on the BasTrak and it did not disappoint, check out the video with REDD banging out some tunes!
We are proud to announce that we are officially entered into ArtPrize 2016,
Founders Brewing Company is hosting us for the duration of the event. The Banjo and BasTrak will be displayed along with the Dobro which is currently in the planning stages. The trio will be known as Roots Rust Revival.
Everything is pretty much done now, I did put a couple of coats of polyurethane on the bridge. Also we decided any good banjo should have a capo right? So here it is. Getting very excited for Wheatland next weekend!
We are still trying to finalize the bridge height and string size, this really all falls on Dave as I have no clue on any of that. We also ended up going to an alternate tuning as we kept breaking strings but we knew this was a possibility from the start.
